Back in the fall of 2009 my wife talked me into meeting a guy on the other side of town to buy an e-cigarette. Both my wife and I smoked cigarettes and she had heard about the electronic kind from a friend of hers who had recently had a bout of emphysema and her doctor had told her about them.So there we were, driving nearly an hour to the other side of town to meet some dude in a parking lot who could provide us with them. I remember telling my wife then, "I'm not going to stop smoking. It is practically the only thing I can rely on in life to give me what I want, when I want it and it never lets me down."
We pulled up next to the guy's car and he proceeded to open the trunk of his car, fishing out two Joye 510 e-cigarettes along with a couple bottles of Marlboro e-juice (yeah, this was before Marlboro started suing everybody for using their name on e-liquid bottles). I took four or five puffs and proclaimed, "I could smoke this thing."
When my carton of cigarettes ran out a few days later, I decided not to buy any more and see if I could just use the e-cigarette. Within a week, I was no longer coughing up half a lung every morning and simply felt better. That was October of 2009; I have never taken even a drag off of a real cigarette since then and I used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day!
It was then that I decided that I needed to find a wholesale supplier and set up an online store selling e-cigarettes. These things were miracles and I needed to make sure that anyone who wanted an electronic cigarette could easily get one, without having to drive across town and buy one off some dude selling them from the trunk of his car.
While various scientists and doctors battle back and forth about the health risks of e-cigarettes, I don't need their opinions, which are almost always influenced by whatever lobbyist group is filling their pockets with money. My lungs have already told me how much better e-cigarettes are than the real thing. That, and the fact that REAL doctors of our customers are calling me, requesting business cards to hand out to their other smoking patients, is all I really need to know about the health benefits of switching to electronic cigarettes.
We have changed our website names several times over the course of time for various branding reasons but have been selling e-cigarettes for more than five years now. Back then, there were no stores at all selling e-cigs; you could only buy them online. My how times have changed in just a few short years! Our base group of customers is the same now as it was half a decade ago. They could buy them locally, they say, but just keep buying from us because we have always taken care of them.
Our philosophy today is the same as it was back then. We are all about helping people transition from the cancer causing real cigarettes to what appears to be a much healthier alternative. We are not into gimmicks and aren't interested in the latest monster e-cigs that let people blow out clouds of vapor that can fill up an entire car.
