Atomizers Clearomizers and Coils

With the exception of E-Liquid, nothing will get replaced more often than your atomizers or coils. Although they may last for a month or more before they completely die, an e-cigarette atomizer or coil's ability to heat up and produce clouds of vapor is reduced with every drag you take.

If you are using an e-cigarette with eGo style threads, we highly recommend replacing your current atomizer or clearomizer with a Kanger T3S. After years of trying ton of clearomizers, it's the best one we've ever used and, unlike the HUGE clearomizers that make your e-cigarette look more like a power tool, the T3S is the same width as the battery, so you don;t have to worry about looking ridiculous.

All of our e-cigarette starter kits contain two atomizers heads, so at least you have a backup when you need it. You really should have at least two backup atomizers or coils, though. Why Doesn't My Atomizer or Coil Work?

If your e-cigarette atomizer or coil isn't working, there are several things that could be causing the problem:

Your atomizer or coil and/or battery is dirty: It is important that you clean the contact points of the atomizer and the battery frequently with a paper towel or Kleenex. If you don't the electrical contact points might not establish proper contact, resulting in poor vapor production or no vapor production at all.
Your atomizer or coil is not screwed on all the way: It is important that your atomizer or coil has a snug connection with the battery. If it is not screwed all the way on, it will never make contact with the battery post. Keep in mind, however, that you do not want to over-tighten the atomizer or coil head. If you do, you might drive the post down into the battery, permanently damaging the battery.
Your atomizer is dead: Like all e-cigarette components, atomizers eventually die and fail to work more than any other e-cigarette component. The heating element only lasts so long before it burns out and when e-liquid builds up inside of them, it makes them fail or perform poorly even faster. Also, if you drop your e-cigarette, the threadlike wires in the atomizer may break, permanently killing the atomizer.

How Do I Clean My Atomizer or Coil?

The short answer is, you can't. You definitely want to wipe down the contact points where your atomizer or clearomizer meets the battery but actually cleaning an atomizer or coil so that it works like brand new is something that only seems to work for people with very active imaginations.

You can head to places like e-cigarette forum and literally spend an entire day reading about all kinds of wild things people claim work. You'll also see later threads that state that the methods people describe do not really work at all.

I assure you, I have tried every method I have ever found and none of them really work. Although you may convince yourself that your atomizer seems to work a little better, that improvement will be very short-lived (it exists mostly in your mind, after all). More often than not, people kill their poor performing atomizers or coils completely with the cleaning methods, or worse, use cleaning agents that may be extremely harmful to their lungs.

The Bottom Line: Just buy a new atomizer or coil and keep at least a couple spare ones on hand as backups. Most former tobacco cigarette smokers spent $5-$15 PER DAY on cigarettes. Surely, spending $10-$15 per month on new atomizers and coils is not going to break your bank - especially when you realize how much money you are saving per month using the healthier alternative!
