Why Doesn't My E-Cigarette Battery Work?

There are three common reasons an e-cigarette battery doesn't work:

It is locked: If your e-cigarette battery is not working, make sure that it is not locked. Most e-cigarette batteries can be locked or unlocked by clicking the button rapidly 3-7 times. The battery will start flashing, indicating that you have either locked or unlocked it.
You dropped it and broke it: If you have dropped your e-cigarette, the threadlike wires inside of the battery that connect the circuitry could have broken. In this case, you will need to replace your battery.
You drove the post down inside of the battery: One of the most common reasons that batteries fail is that people are over-aggressive when it comes to tightening their atomizers onto the battery or screwing the battery onto the charger. Although you should make sure that the connection is snug, once you feel resistance, stop! If you tighten the connection between your e-cig battery and an atomizer or the charger too much, you will drive the post down inside of the battery where it will no longer be able to make a proper connection.

Why Doesn't My E-Cigarette Battery Hold A Charge?

There are three reasons an e-cigarette battery will not a hold a charge or that it performs inconsistently:

The battery is dirty: Make sure you clean the battery where it connects to your charger regularly. The cleaner your battery is, the better it will make a connection with the charger and with your atomizer. Use a Kleenex or paper towel to swab the inside of the battery connection area (the part that screws onto an atomizer or charger).
The charger is dirty: Like the battery, your e-cigarette charger also needs to be periodically cleaned. Use a Kleenex or paper towel and swab the inside of your e-cigarette battery charger where it connects with the battery.
Your battery is old: Every time you charge a battery, it loses a little bit of its ability to hold a charge. As weeks and months go by, your battery will gradually last for less and less time before needing to be recharged. After a couple hundred charges, most e-cig batteries will completely lose their ability to hold a charge.
